Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) was established by Late Shri. Shankarrao Bajirao Patil in the Year 1990 with a vision to provide Value Added Technical Education and enter in multidimensional field of education as grown up, to Society in multiple dimensions, right from Nursery to Doctoral Programs in all Professional Streams; enabling all our Students to achieve Freedom through Education.

The Governing Body (GB) is formed as per the guidelines given by AICTE as per appendix – 19 of New Approval Process Hand book.

  • The Governing Body of the Institute provides an overall guidance to the Institute within the purview of the statutes and guidelines of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to which the Institute is affiliated.
  • The Governing Body, in its meetings, makes the assessments of the functioning of the Institute and deliberates upon how the functioning of the Institute may be improved towards the achievement of the vision by ensuring the quality.
  • The Meeting of Governing body is conducted twice in a Year

Functions of the Governing Body

Subject to the existing provision in the bye-laws of the respective College and Rules laid down by the State Government / Parent University, the Governing Body shall –

  • Guide the institute while fulfilling the Objectives for which the institute has been granted Autonomous Status.
  • To approve the Annual Budget proposed by the Finance Committee of the institute before submitting the same to the AICTE/UGC.
  • Institute Scholarships, Fellowships, Studentships, Medals, Prizes, Certificates and academic approvals on the recommendations of the Academic Council.
  • Approve new Programs of Study leading to Degrees.
  • Perform such other functions and Institute Committees as may be necessary and deemed fit for proper development of the Institute.
  • The director shall convene a Meeting of the Board of Governors at least twice in a year.

Notes:

  1. 1. Term of nominated Members shall be Three Years from 2020 to 2023.
  2. 2. The Board of Governors shall be reconstituted every Three Years except in the case of UGC Nominee who shall have a term of Five Years.
  3. 3. Director shall convene a Meeting of the Board of Governors at least twice in a year.
