Grievance Redressal Committee


The institute ensures transparency and clarity in all its working. Utmost care is taken to ensure a healthy and most conducive environment for Learning on Campus. To take care and address any Grievances / Complaints, the following initiatives are taken –

Policy

The Institute shall review all its Systems, Resources, Processes, and Provisions to ensure that they are consistent with the time requirement, the objective being reduction in Grievances.

The Institute is committed to regard Grievances as an Opportunity to Improve the Working Environment in the Institute.

The Institute is committed to establish, operate and improve Grievance Handling System.
Quality features of Grievance Handling System –

  • Ease of accessibility
  • Promptness in resolving the issues
  • The grievance shall be handled objectively and confidentially
  • The respondents shall be treated respectfully and shall not be victimized or discriminated.
  • The System shall give due importance to the Students Charter.
  • Written Records of all significant Grievances and solutions shall be maintained

Constitution of Grievance Committee

A Committee is constituted to handle the Grievance at different levels, and the following are the members –

  • Registrar
  • Dy. Director
  • Chairman of Discipline Committee
  • Co-opted member of the concerned work area

Procedure for Student Grievance Handling

  • Wherever possible, the Proctor shall attempt to resolve the issue through discussion with the person (s) concerned and the Student/s. This shall reduce the number of Grievances.
  • Suggestions made by Students in the Formal Feedback Form and through Suggestion Boxes, wherever found reasonable, shall be addressed quickly to ensure that the issues do not become a formal Grievance.
  • Formal grievances shall be submitted in writing by the Student(s) to the relevant Student Proctor.
  • Receipt of the Grievance will be acknowledged by Proctor within two working days.
  • The Proctor. Shall make the best possible efforts to resolve the issue in a face-to-face inquiry/ discussion.
  • If Proctor. Does not succeed in resolving the issue, he shall categorize the Grievance in
    • Academic Grievances or,
    • Non-academic Grievances
  • Proctor shall forward the Grievance to the Grievance Committee along with his / her remarks.
  • The Grievance Committee shall hold its meeting within five working days and resolve the Grievance.
  • In addition to the above, Grievances can be submitted through the Web link i.e.http://www.pccoepune.com/Grievance-Redressal-Committee.php
  • Wherever the Grievance is found valid, corrective Measures in System shall be applied to avoid the recurrence of the Grievance or Grievance of a similar nature.
  • All Corrective Measures shall be taken on Record, duly endorsed by the Director.

Hostel Complaints / Grievances

  • Utmost precautions are taken to ensure the availability of a Conducive Environment for residents in the Hostels and focus on the Academic and other development of Students.
  • Adequate care and preventive measures are taken to avoid any incidences of indiscipline, misconduct, and ragging in the hostels.
  • However, if any minor events are noticed, those are immediately attended by Hostel Assistants, Rectors and Warden. If necessary, the Parents / Local Guardians of such Students are called for discussion, and information about the nature and involvement of their wards in the events is provided. Warnings, Corrective Measures are taken in consultation with the Parents.
  • In case of any major event of indiscipline and misconduct, the complaints are handled and investigated by the Students Welfare, Discipline and Anti–ragging Committee. Disciplinary Action is taken per the findings of the Investigation and Reports of the Committee by the Director in association with concerned HODs and Committee Chairman.

Additionally, the institute has formed the following committees to address the concerns of all its stakeholders.

Grievance redressal committee:

In order to comply with the AICTE / UGC / SPPU Regulation for addressing students or other stakeholders in a Technical Institution, the "Grievance Redressal Committee" of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Nigdi, Pune, has been constituted with the following Staff in different positions to enquire the nature and extent of grievance.

Objectives

  • To provide a smooth organizational framework to resolve the grievances of the students and other stakeholders.
  • To investigate the reason for dissatisfaction.
  • To ensure effective solutions to the grievances
