Academic Council

The Academic Council is a statutory Committee constituted per UGC's guidelines. With reference to office order Ref No OFF.ORD/PCCOE/2022-24/1558-1 dated 10th May 2024 due to revision in functionaries from the academic year 2024-25, the Academic council has been reformed as follows.

Notes:

The term of nominated Members shall be three years, three years, from AY 2023-24 to AY 2025-26
Director shall convene a Meeting of the Academic Council twice in a year.
The director may invite any Faculty Member or Experts from outside to participate/advise on specific issues.
Invitees will not have voting power in case of any critical decision-making.

Functions of PCCoE Academic Council:

• Scrutinize and approve Proposals with or without modification of the Boards of Studies with regard to Courses of Study, Academic Regulations, Curricula, Syllabi and modifications thereof, Instructional and Evaluation Arrangements, Methods, Procedures relevant thereto, etc., provided that where the Academic Council differs on any Proposal, it shall have the right to return the matter for reconsideration to the Board of Studies concerned or reject it, after giving reasons to do so
• Make Regulations regarding the Admission of Students to different Programmes of Study in the Institute, keeping in view the Policy of the Government.
• Make regulations for Sports, extra-Curricular activities, and proper maintenance and functioning of Playgrounds and Hostels.
• Recommend to Board of Governors Proposals for the institution of new Programmes of Study
• Recommend to the Board of Governors institution of Scholarships, Studentships, Fellowships, Prizes and Medals, and to frame Regulations for the award of the same.
• Advise the Board of Governors on suggestions(s) pertaining to Academic affairs made by it
• Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Board of Governors, where the Academic Council differs on any Proposal of the Board of Studies, it will have the right to return the matter for reconsideration to the Board of Studies concerned or reject it, after giving reasons to do so.The decision taken by the Academic Council of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering will not be subjected to any further ratification by the Academic Council of other Statutory Bodies of the University.
