Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) was established by Late Shri. Shankarrao Bajirao Patil in the Year 1990 with a vision to provide Value Added Technical Education and enter in multidimensional field of education as grown up, to Society in multiple dimensions, right from Nursery to Doctoral Programs in all Professional Streams; enabling all our Students to achieve Freedom through Education.

Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering is established in 1999 by Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust and the details of the Trustees are as follows:

The Governing Body (GB) is formed as per the guidelines given by AICTE as per appendix – 19 of New Approval Process Hand book.

Governing Body (GB) of Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust's (PCET's) Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE) has been constituted as per 'The Gazette of India Extraordinary [Part III - Sec.4] for a Term of Five Years commencing from Academic Year 2023-24 to 2027-28 as per Guidelines for Autonomous Colleges.

Functions of the Governing Body

Subject to the existing provision in the bye-laws of the respective College and Rules laid down by the State Government / Parent University, the Governing Body shall -

Guide the institute while fulfilling the Objectives for which the institute has been granted Autonomous Status.
Institute Scholarships, Fellowships, Studentships, Medals, Prizes, Certificates and academic approvals on the recommendations of the Academic Council.
Approve new Programs of Study leading to Degrees.
All recruitments of the teaching faculty / Principal / Director Shall be made by the Board of Governance/State Government as applicable in accordance with the policy laid down by the UGC and State Government from time to time.
To approve the Annual Budget proposed by the Finance Committee of the institute before submitting the same to the AICTE / UGC.
Perform such other functions and Institute Committees as may be necessary and deemed fit for proper development of the Institute. Where academics Council differs on any proposal of the board of studies, it will have the right to return the matter for reconsideration to the Board of Studies concern or reject it, after giving reasons to do so.

Notes:

1. Term of nominated Members shall be Five Years from Academic Year 2023 - 2024 to 2027-2028.
2. The Board of Governors shall be reconstituted every Five Years except in the case of UGC Nominee.
3. Director shall convene a Meeting of the Board of Governors at least twice in a year.
