National Service Scheme comes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and NSS cell, Higher and technical education, Govt. of Maharashtra. NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969-70.
Understanding the need of social development of youth from technical field to serve the society in effective way, NSS was started in the academic year 2008-09 in Pimpri Chinchwad College of Enginering, Nigdi.
The scheme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide better service to society through voluntary work. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living. While working for the society volunteers learn how to perform in a team effectively, how to various social activities and how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.
PCCoE NSS team perform social work by dividing the work in two verticals
To inculcate social values and social awareness among the students and provide service to society through programs.
Outcome of NSS activities is judged based on number students enrolled vs number of students benefited through the programs.

1. Name of event- Blood Donation Camp Date- 05/10//2017 Place- PCCoE Reading Hall No. of Participants- 36 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 422 People of the society
Event Details- Blood Donation Camp was organized considering the scarcity of Blood in PCMC and nearby areas and to provide Blood to Thellesmia patients who need blood on regular basis.
Objective- To help to vanish the scarcity of Blood in nearby areas and help needy people of the society.
Outcome- 211 bags of blood were collected through this blood donation camp which can save lives of 422 people from the society.
Event Achievement- Collection of 211 Blood Bags in 6 hours.

2. Name of event- Group Discussions on Hand Wash Date- 26/09/2017 Place- NSS Office Premises No. of Participants- 16 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 16 NSS volunteers
Event Details- On the occasion of National Service Scheme on 24th September 2017. NSS PCCoE had organized Group Discussions on Hand Wash to promote the hand washing and disease prevention on 26th September 2017.
Objective- To promote the hand washing and disease prevention.
Outcome- 16 NSS Volunteers shared their views regarding hand wash diseases and its prevention and came to know various methods and ways to implement it.

3. Name of event- Hand Wash Rally Date- 26/09/2017 Place- PCCoE Campus and Slum Area Near College No. of Participants- 49 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- Students of PCCoE and 500+ People
Event Details- On the occasion of National Service Scheme on 24th September 2017. NSS PCCoE had organized Hand Wash Rally to promote the hand washing and disease prevention on 26th September 2017.
Objective- To promote the hand washing and disease prevention.
Outcome- Hand Wash Rally promoted the importance of Washing hands and maintaining personal hygiene.

4. Name of event- Intercollegiate Mega Street Play competition Date- 20th and 23rd Sept. 2017 Place- Law College, Azam Campus, Pune No. of Participants- 11 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 300+ Audience
Event Details- Intercollegiate Mega Street Play competition took place at A.K.K. New Law Academy in association with Pune District Legel Services Authority and SPPU from 20th to 24th September 2017. Team of 11 NSS PCCoE volunteers participated in this event and addressed the “Cyber Crime” Issue through 10 minutes Street Play.
Objective- To spread awareness regarding Legal Services Authority among the society through Street Play.
Outcome- Team NSS PCCoE performed the street play on “Cyber Crime” in front of 300+ audiences and secured 5th rank in the competition.
Event Achievement- Secured 5th Rank in Mega Street Play Competition amongst 70 teams.

5. Name of event- Pune Cyclothon Date- 09/09/2017 Place- S.P. College, Pune No. of Participants- 07 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- People of Pune City.
Event Details- Pune Cyclothon was organized on 17th September 2017 by Lok Biradari Mitramandal, Pune and SPPU. Many NSS volunteers from SPPU affiliated colleges participated in this event as volunteer as well as participants.
Objective- To promote usefulness of using bicycles in maintaining balance of environment and control the pollution level in Pune.
Outcome- A successful promotion to control the pollution level in Pune was addressed through this event.

6. Name of event- Nirmalya Collection at Ganesh Lake, Nigdi Date- 02 and 5th Sept. 2017 Place- Ganesh Lake, Nigdi, Pradhikaran No. of Participants- 63 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 800+ Devotees of Pradhikaran.
Event Details- NSS PCCoE conducted an activity for Pollution free lake and Nirmalya Collection as a regular activity. NSS volunteers worked dedicated and in disciplined manner to work for this social cause. NSS volunteers guide devotees to reach the destination safely and without traffic, volunteers collect all the nirmalya like flowers, durva, floral necklace and other nirmalya before visarjan. Prasadam is collected separately which is given to poor people in the surrounding area. People visiting the place were continuously supporting and motivating NSS volunteers.
Objective- To work for social cause to keep lake pollution free and Nirmalya Collection.
Outcome- Lot of Nirmalya were collected in Separate bins and lake was kept pollution free and people were made aware about it.
Event Achievement- Famous radio jockey RJ Shonali from Radio City 91.1 took live telephonic interview of Dean SDW Dr. Shital Bhandari madam regarding the activity for Pollution free lake and Nirmalya Collection and appreciated the work.

7. Name of event- Cleanliness Drive at Historical Place "Karla Leni" Date- 11/08/2017 Place- Karla Leni, Pehergaon No. of Participants- 24 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- NSS Volunteers + Villagers + Tourists.
Event Details- As per the SPPU NSS circular the Cleanliness Drive at Historical Place “Karla Leni” under Clean and Healthy India Campaign was successfully completed on 11th August 2017. 24 NSS PCCoE volunteers performed cleaning activity at basement of Karla Caves and on path, stairs to Karla Caves. Students of Second Year were selected for this activity as In Sem Exam were going on for TE and BE students.
Objective- To support Clean and Healthy India Pandharwada Campaign through cleanliness drive at Historical Place.
Outcome- Volunteers alongwith villagers were made aware with the importance of cleanliness and conservation of historical places by keeping them clean.

8. Name of event- Social Case Study Presentations Date- 03/08/2017 Place- NSS Office Premises No. of Participants- 20 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 113 NSS Volunteers + 10 Teachers.
Event Details- The event of Social case study Presentations was successfully completed on 31st July 2017. As we all know that many social activists are doing their valuable social work for development of our nation. Many times it not possible for all to have a physical visit at their work place to understand their working processes and strategies of work. So to have a in depth knowledge of their work NSS volunteers prepared and presented these social case studies for students of PCCoE to give them motivation and inspiration through it. Students of NSS PCCoE delivered quality presentations on life of social activists and environment conservation. 4 (5 volunteers in each group) groups have presented their case studies in front of more than 100 students.
Objective- To let NSS Volunteers know about in depth knowledge regarding Social Activists doing at National and International Level.
Outcome- NSS PCCoE volunteers were inspired and motivated through this activity to work hard and dedicatedly for the society on right path.

9. Name of event- Enrollment of Young and Eligible Students of PCCoE In Voter List Date- 27/072017 Place- NSS Office Premises No. of Participants- 33 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- 260 Students of PCCoE.
Event Details- The Campaign for “Enrolment of Young and Eligible Students of PCCoE in Voter List” was successfully completed on 27th July 2017 under the valuable guidance of Tahsildar Ms. Ghatge Madam and Naib Tahsildar MR. Sanjay Kulkarni from “Pimpri Assembly”. Initially on 25th July 2017 we have created awareness among students by personally visiting almost 33 classes of engineering along with Pimpri Assembly Official people and shared the information about importance of enrolment in voter list and schedule of the campaign. Total 33 NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated for managing the campaign effectively and successfully and 260 students from Pune district have enrolled their names in voter list.
Objective- To support Government of India initiative that not a single youth should remain deprived from Enrolment in Voter List.
Outcome- 260 student of PCCoE were benefited through this event by giving them opportunity to enrol for Voter Registration and NSS Volunteers learnt the official procedure of Voter List Enrolment.

10. Name of event- Street Play on Importance of Voter Registration for Election Date- 20/07/2017 Place- In front of PCCoE Canteen No. of Participants- 13 NSS volunteers. No. of Beneficiaries- Students of PCCoE.
Event Details- As per the guidelines of Indian Election Commission, New Delhi and Savitribai Phule Pune University we have arranged a Street Play on “Importance of Voter Registration for Election” under a special Awareness Campaign for “Young and Eligible New Voter Registrations” to support this campaign as a technical institute. Total 13 students have performed street play in front of many students of our college. Staff, students and people from the institute appreciated the activity performed by students of NSS PCCoE.
Objective- To support and create awareness on “Importance of Voter Registration for Election” under a special Awareness Campaign for “Young and Eligible New Voter Registrations”
Outcome- Young and Eligible students of our college were motivated to register for their names in Voter Registration List through the street play.

NSS students of the college help the PCMC during the Ganesh Festival. Nearly 125 students of college work voluntarily on 25/09/2012, 27/09/2012 and 29/09/2012 at Ganesh Talav Pradhikaran. NSS PCCOE is always keen regarding social issue. Water and air pollution during festival is common so as to help the PCMC staff to keep the nearby Ganesh Talav neat and clean students work whole heartedly. A group of NSS volunteers cleaned the premises of Nikamwadi ZP School and planted saplings to modify the look of the school. Total 25 trees were planted.

Voting Awareness Program (Date : 13-01-2017, Time : 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Venue : In front of Mahagaon Temple)
Mr. Deepak Mandekar and his group performed Skits to throw light on current voting trend and various tricks performed by members to attract people towards them. They also presented inspirational songs and gazals on the issue of voting.

Bandhara Construction and Water Enrichment (Date : 11-01-2017 and 12-01-2017, Time : 10:00 am to 02:00 pm, Venue: Before Bridge of Mahagaon)
Around 40 NSS volunteers dedicatedly constructed mini dam (Bandhara) by creating chain to transport bags from first location to actual place of Bandhara. To construct the bandhara we utilized around 300 bags of masonary material.

Issue addressed through Programme: As Pawana Dams back water flows continuously, it was difficult to use that water for farming and daily usage. By constructinh bandhara over there we increased water storing capacity at that place and made water available for villager to use it daily.
Understanding and Misunderstandings about - Snake and Chamatkarache Prayog (Date : 11-01-2017, Time : 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Venue : In front of Mahagaon Temple)
Mr. Atul Sawakhande sir demonstrated and cleared understandings and misunderstandings about snake. He demonstrated Ghonas, Manyar etc types of snakes. He also addressed audience how to cure snake bite patient.

Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (VISAKA) (Date : 13-01-2017, Time : 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Venue : In Prabhachi Wadi)
All volunteers of NSS PCCoE explained importance and usefulness of cashless society. They convinced villagers about advantages and misconceptions of using ATM cards, using various applications like BHIM app and many more options to be a cashless citizen of country.

Science Mini Projects Exhibition and Drawing Competition (Date : 12-01-2017, Time : 09:00 am to 05:00 pm, Venue - In Mahagaon School)
Students of school were taught basic science projects to clear their basic concepts of science and drawing competition was held to motivate them to create interest in the field of art. Students participated in the event enthusiastically and came out with very interesting concepts.

Volunteers of students taught various subject like maths, history, geography and science to students of the school. Students also learnt some shortcut methods which are used in mathematics. To make teaching learning process effective we showcased motivational videos to all the students.

Volunteers thrown light on social issues like importance of cashless society and citizen and hagandari mukt gaon. Skit includes various motivational dialogues and scenes to convince people in the village to adopt positive things addressed through the skit.

Shivkalin Mardani Khel by Great Worriers, Pune(Date : 13-01-2017, Time : 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Venue : In Mahagaon)
Approx 20 volunteers of great worriers, Pune performed “shivkalin mardani khel” in front of villagers. During this program they have demonstrated thrilling warfare techniques. Attractions of this program were small girls, who were handling weapons very swiftly.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay Lakade and Prof. Dr. N. B. Chopade from PCCoE delivered a guest lecture on Importance of research for school children. Students get insight of how their subject knowledge can be useful for finding solutions to social problems. They showed motivational videos also to students on the same topic.
