About ISR

An Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell is a unit under Student Development and Welfare head of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune, The ISR cell promotes community service and social engagement among students and faculty. It organizes initiatives such as educational programs, health drives, environmental conservation, and rural development projects. By collaborating with NGOs, the ISR Cell fosters civic responsibility, sustainability, and ethical awareness, helping students contribute meaningfully to society.

Objectives of ISR Cell:

  • To Inculcate Social awareness, values and environmentally responsible behavior amongst students.
  • To nurture students as citizens with moral, ethical and social values so as to provide service to the society through activities and discharge their obligations towards the society

Functions of ISR Cell:

  • To create awareness among students and staff towards our responsibility for societal development.
  • To plan & conduct technical awareness/training programs in association with social organizations/NGOs/Government organizations/clubs for needy society members to develop their technical skills.
  • To plan & undertake technical projects/activities/schemes/case studies for social cause such as development of unprivileged school children’s, village development, waste management, e-waste management, rain water harvesting, Environment protection, water management, green energy, etc.
  • To plan study visits to various places to understand the requirement & needs of the society.
  • To keep the records of all the activities & their reports.

1. Awareness Program – E-waste collection and donation event.

ISR Civil Students actively participated in the e-waste collection from societies and their households and donated the same to the Recyclers, M/s. Electrofine Recyclers Pvt. Ltd at MIDC Bhosari Pune during the first semester of the academic year 2024-25. The objective of this event was to understand the concept of electrical and electronic waste management and how important it is to reach to the formal sector (recyclers) for the further process of e-waste to safeguard the environment and human health. Total 4.85 Kgs handed over to the above-mentioned recycler.

2. Financial Literacy Activity for the students of NFBM Jagriti School for Blind Girls.

The students of ISR Cell, AS&H Department, were taken to Jagriti Vidyalaya (Blind Girls School) to give hands-on training on Financial Literacy. The activity was conducted on November 30, 2024. At first, students gave a speech on the importance of financial literacy and how to be aware of frauds and then they made students feel the different bank cards as they couldn’t see the cards. Afterwards a hands-on training for the same was given by our students. Total 22 students ware participated in this activity.

3. To help the students of Jagriti School for Blind Girls to know more about online transportation facilities.

The students of ISR Cell, AS&H Department, were taken to Jagriti Vidyalaya (Blind Girls School) to give hands-on training on using various e-commerce and travelling and ticketing applications. The session provided valuable learning on the apps' ease of use and areas that could be enhanced for better accessibility. Total 15 attendees got benefited through this activity on 6th Feb-2025.

4. Light up the Joy" activity

The "Light up the Joy" activity, organized by the ISR Cell and Art Circle of the Computer Department, aimed to celebrate Diwali by blending creativity with community service. Participants, including students and faculty, painted and decorated diyas, which were then sold. The funds were donated to orphanages, spreading joy and supporting those in need.

5. Health Hygiene Awareness

This initiative aimed to educate the community on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene practices to promote overall public health and well-being. Through interactive sessions and informative materials, participants were made aware of the signicance of regular handwashing, waste management, and personal cleanliness.

6. Road Traffic rules and safety awareness activity.

An activity on Road Traffic rules and safety awareness was organized under Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) cell of PCCOE, on February 10, 2025 at Lions Chowk, Pradhikaran, Nigdi,Pune. The activity was organized by ISR Students Volunteers from Information Technology Department of PCCOE,under guidance of faculty Mr. Rohit Tate. ISR Students Volunteers displayed awareness posters to peoples on Road and asked few of them to wear helmet, connect seat belt etc….

Eco friendly Ganesh Festival - A move toward s green earth.

Objective of the activity: To create the awareness among the people of the society and contribute towards the nature by using biodegradable things for Ganesha Festival’s decoration.

Brief about activity: Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell of E&TC Department has organised an Eco-Friendly Ganesh Festival activity on 22nd August 2020, Saturday. The motto of the activity was to create the awareness among the people of the society and contribute towards the nature by using biodegradable things for Ganesha Festival’s decoration.

Objective of the activity: To make students aware about computer hardware and software

Brief about activity: Students of ISR cell have arranged interactive online sessions as part of “Hour of Code” organized by ACM for students of City Pride School to make them aware about various components of computer and also taught them about how to do basic computer programming.

Brief about activity:

IT department student 6 teams participated in Eureka 2020 from 19th October 2020 to 4th December 2020. Eureka 2020 provides an opportunity to students to showcase their talent in knowledge-sharing skills, Work for Noble social cause in the field of education and network with like-minded people across the nation.

Informative and awareness session on MAHA-LABHARATHI app


Objectives of the activity:

1 Beneficiary can get information about various government schemes.
2 By this app user can also get information about various documents needed for applying various govt. Schemes and where to apply for the same.

Brief about activity:

MAHA-LABHARATHI is very useful app which is developed by government of Maharashtra. In this app user can get information about various government schemes. By this app user can also get information about various documents needed for applying various govt. Schemes and where to apply for for the same.

In this session, At starts Miss. Bhakti explained to audience about Mahalabharathi app i.e. What is Mahalabharathi, How can it help us for getting benefits of various government scheme’s and how easy to handle this app.

In second part of session, Mr. Yash gave them information about how to use the app of Mahalabharathi. In this session he informed them how to create account on Mahalabharathi app, how fill up basic information of yourself on Mahalabharathi app and how to applied for various schemes. The last part of session, Which was doubt clearance session. Student volunteers interacted with all the audience personally and create their accounts on Mahalabharathi app by which they can applied for various government scheme’s by their own in future.

Objectives of the activity:

To aware residents of Vadeshwar Gram about various Government Schemes for their welfare.

Brief about activity:

Students of ISR cell visited Vadeshwar Gram during NSS Camp organized by college and conducted one day session for residents of Vadeshwar gram to make them aware about various government schemes available for them and also informed them about how registered for those schemes and how to get benefit from them.

Objectives of the activity:

Brief about activity: The stationary from the “lost and found section” of our department which was left un-utilized and un-identified over a period of time was distributed to students of Late. Aanasaheb Magar Z.P. School, Borhadewad on 09/02/2019, Saturday from 11 am onwards. In total 75 Pouches (Containing Pen, Pencil, Compass and Scale) and 30 Compass Boxes were distributed by ISR team to the boys and girls of 5th standard. Total 75 girls and 30 boys were benefited from this activity

Road safety awareness program

Brief information of event: ISR cell E&TC department has organized a “Road safety awareness program” for Girl students and ladies faulty on 24/09/2019, Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Total 180 girl students and ladies staff of E&TC department are benefited by this activity. In the First half of this event, the authorised speaker from Honda motorcycle & scooters India Pvt.Ltd. Pune, Mr.Swapnil Jawharkar gave the theory knowledge about vehicle & driving rules and in the second half of the event, demonstration was conducted for safety precautions and tips while driving to attendees.

Outcome of the activity: Students have created awareness by educating about the basics of driving and road safety.
