Objectives

To motivate and guide students for improvement in Communication skills and overall Personality Development and impart quality training for Aptitude and soft skills development of students and ensure its effectiveness

Functions

  • To identify training agencies and arrange quality training programs for Aptitude and Soft Skills improvement of students.

  • To monitor the effectiveness of training program through continuous monitoring and control and take remedial actions wherever needed.

  • To create awareness among students about importance of communication skills and dynamic personality and provide guidance and motivation through various activities for their improvement.

Activities of Communication and Personality Development Cell - A.Y 2016-17


Aptitude and Soft Skill Training

  • Training program for “Aptitude and Soft skills” for S.E students of all branches commenced on 19th of December 2016 to prepare them for aptitude tests for various companies and other competitive exams, improve their communication skills and groom their overall personality to adapt easily to corporate culture. The 100 Hours training program covers covering 30 Hrs. Spoken English, Verbal ability and communication skills, 60 Hrs. Aptitude, GD and P.I and 10 Hrs. Finishing Course. Total 827 students have registered for this training Program.

  • Thirty Hours Aptitude training for M.E students of all branches by Ronak Shah, Proton Technologies was arranged during 9th Feb 2017 to 30th March 2017 for aptitude development of students which is extremely essential for their placement and further career growth. Total 28 M.E students have registered for this training program.

Session on Written Communication Skills

A session on Written Communication skills was arranged by Mrs. Deepa Abin from computer department on 9th September 2016 for SE, TE and B.E Computer Engg. students to improve their writing skills and help them inculcate an interest for writing.

Session on Tips and Tricks for Effectively Facing Job Interviews

A session on tips and tricks for effectively facing job interviews delivered by Mr. Kaushal Raut was arranged by Mrs. Deepa Abin on 10th Sept. 2016 to provide B.E. students from Marathi and Semi English medium schools some helpful tips and tricks required to successfully face interviews.

Guest Lecture on Soft Skill and Personality Development

Guest Lecture on “Soft Skill And Personality Development” delivered by Mr. Sagar Sonker was arranged by Mrs. Rohini Pise on 1st Sept., 2016 for I.T Students to share with them the importance of soft skills in all domains of life and build strong and impressive personality.

Session on “Facing the Service Selection Board Interviews for Armed Forces”

Session on “Facing The Service Selection Board Interviews for Armed Forces” conducted by Col. Ranjit Kr Sinha, Ex-Interviewing Officer 19 SSB, Allahabad, was arranged by Mr. Vilash Shingare on 9th July,2016 for T.E and B.E students of Mechanical and Civil Engg. Total 62 students actively participated and got benefitted from the session.

English Funfest

An English funfest was arranged in computer department by Mrs. Deepa Abin on 26th July 2016 for S.E. and T.E. students to spark an interest in English and encourage communication in English. It included activities like game of Pictionary, story building designed to build self confidence, improve public speaking skills and encourage communication in English language.

Notice Board Activity

Notice Board Activity is initiated in Mechanical Department by Mr. Vilash Shingare to enhance student's reading skills which included topics on current affairs and topics of national interest to create awareness of these issues in depth, increase curiosity and promote healthy discussions among student community.

Guest Lecture on Importance of Personality Development for Career Growth

Guest lecture on “Importance of personality development for career growth” for TE and BE E&TC students was organized on 21st Dec., 2016. Mr. Kaustubh Bhadbhade, Senior Manager - Human Resources, Persistent Systems Ltd, Pune was the resource speaker.

Workshop on Written Communication Skills

Workshop on "Written Communication Skills" was organized by Computer department on 9th Feb 17 with an objective to improve writing skills of students.70 students were benefitted from the same. The event was conducted by Mrs.Geetha Kumar,Seed Infotech.Mrs.Deepa Abin and Mrs.Pallavi Dhade coordinated the event. The outcome of the event was that students will be able to write better emails, reports, essays and resume for effective communication.

Guest lecture on" Importance of Aptitude building for shaping the career" was organized for M.E (F.Y) students of VLSI (E&Tc), Computer, Mech (HP), M.E (Design) and I.T. on 7th Feb, 2017 with an aim to create awareness about importance of Aptitude skills and encourage students for its improvement. Mr. Ronak Shah, Proton Technologies was the resource speaker.

Guest lecture on "Positive Impact of Good Communication & Personality on Career Development"

Guest lecture on "Positive Impact of Good Communication & Personality on Career Development" was organized for M.E (F.Y) students on 2nd February, 2017 to create awareness among PG students about the importance f communication skills and personality development for effective career growth and further development. Mr. Arjun Dashrath Koli, Ex Army man, was the resource speaker.

Session on "Importance of Image and First Impression"

Session on "Importance of Image and First Impression" delivered by Mrs. Vanashree Shembekar, VMetamorph Image Consulting was arranged for students of PCCoE girls hostel and ladies faculty on 10th Sept., 2016 coordinated by Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav and Mrs. Archana Lalge from E & Tc Department.

Awareness Session on Importance of English communication and Hands-on Session on Globarena Software

Awareness session on Importance of English communication with hands-on on Globarena software was arranged for faculties and admin staff of PCCoE on 25th Aug., 2016. Mr. Vishal Mohurle from Globarena Technologies was the resource person. The faculties from all departments handling soft skills course actively took part in the session. Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav coordinated the activity.

Teacher's Training Session on English Language Lab

Teacher's training session on English Language Lab (Globarena Software) available in Language lab of PCCoE was arranged for faculties and admin staff of E & Tc department on 10th Sept., 2016. Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav was the resource person for the session. The session comprised of hands-on training on the various modules like Introductory lessons, Listening Skills, Grammar and Vocabulary Skills, Reading and writing Skills, etc.

Three months English Curriculum Teaching

Three months English Curriculum Teaching for @180 secondary students (Std.V to Std.VII) of Kanhephata Zillah Parishad Prathamik Shala, Kanhephata was undetaken by CPDC student team of E & Tc Department in association with ISR cell from 13th Aug. to 8th Oct. 2016 on weekly basis. The basic topics covered included introduction to nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verbs, spellings, synonyms, antonyms, pronunciations, numerical count and spellings, Marathi to English translation of sentences and paragraph reading. The student team was directed by Student Coordinator Mruganayana Thorat under the guidance of Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav.
