Objectives

To enrich the welfare of students for their overall development and to ensure welfare schemes carried out as per the plan.

Functions

  • To plan and monitor the various student welfare activities,schemes for benefits to the students.To ensure provision and upkeepment of essential infrastructure and other essential facilities to all students of college,including health,hygiene and safty.

  • To make students aware of various scholarships, financial support schemes of State government, SPPU and other funding agencies.

  • To ensure proper functioning of the student welfare committee,utilisation of student welfare fund.

  • To take adequate measures to ensure and maintain student discipline.Necessary vigilance and control to curb any matters,incidences of indiscipline,misbehavior,ragging.Handle matters of such incidances if any and suggest suitable disciplinary measures/actions.

  • To handle student grievances and suggest remedial measures.

  • Felicitation of students in recognition of their distinguished achievments,performance.

  • To put up “Help desk” for new entrants (FE and direct SE admissions)during admission process and initial induction days after commencement of classes.

  • To process nomination on “Student Council” as per the norms of SPPU.

  • To ensure proper follow up of the college and hostel disciline rules and regulations including college uniform.

Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering has several anti-ragging initiatives, including a core committee, vigilance squad, and awareness programs. The college aims to create a safe and friendly environment for all students.

Objectives

  • To keep constant vigilance and ensure preventive measures against the ragging as per guidelines given by UGC.
  • To insure that PCCOE Campus and Hostel is free of any kind of ragging

Functions:

  • Formation of anti-ragging core committee.
  • Maintain coordination between all the departments by appointing a vigilance squad.
  • Visit the Classes to create awareness among the students regarding the consequences of involvement in ragging.
  • Scheduling of regular visits of squad and committee to the hostel, particularly during the initial phase of entry of first year students, to curb the ragging

Facilities Provided Under Special Needs of the Students

Mobility Scooter for Students with Locomotor Disabilities: A mobility scooter for a student with locomotor disabilities involves tailoring the scooter to meet the individual’s specific needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and ease of use. Italso supports the student’s independence on campus.

Who can use: Students having -

i) Amputee of either limb.
ii) Hip injuries (operated/malunited fractures).
iii) Injuries of lumber/sacral region.

Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine for Girl Students: Under the special needs of girl students, our college has successfully installed three Sanitary Napkins Vending Machines for girls on campus at three different locations. Girl Students can use this facility in Building No. 5, Third Floor, Girl’s Washroom, and Building No. 6.

The Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn & Learn Scheme is a program at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune, runs as per the guidelines given by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune that helps students develop their skills and gain work experience. The scheme is run by the SWAD Cell.

What does the scheme do?

At Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune, the Free Mess Facility supports academically strong students who face financial challenges. This initiative is designed for students with limited financial resources, ensuring that their academic success is not hindered by the inability to afford nutritious meals. The selection criteria prioritize students who demonstrate both financial need and academic dedication. By offering free meals, the program aims to foster excellence, support long-term success, and create equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

The Free Mess Facility is a welfare initiative managed by the Student Development and Welfare Cellat PCCoE.

1. Report on Self-Defence Training Program for Girls Students

As per SPPU circular and the permission received from college, team SDW has conducted the Self-Defence Training Program for girl students of PCCOE. The objective was to empower students with essential self-protection techniques, boost their confidence, and ensure their personal safety in day-to-day life. The program commenced on 11th October 2025 and was conducted from October 2025 to January 2026. Training sessions were conducted every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the PCET’s Central Sports Complex. The venue provided a safe and spacious environment suitable for martial arts and physical training activities. The focus was on hands-on learning, allowing students to gradually build confidence, strength, and self-defence skills through regular practice. This included karate training, advanced self-defence techniques and traditional martial arts, along with regular physical training sessions. Some newly added trainings were Nunchaku (Nun Chalu) Training, Dhal Talwar Training, Boxing Training, Lathi-Kathi Training. The program has resulted in several positive outcomes, observed through student participation and performance during training sessions. Continuous practice has contributed to both physical and psychological development of the participants.

2. Nirbhay Kanya AbhiyaanSession for Girl Students at PCCoE

The Student Welfare Cell organized the event “Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyaan “, in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University on 20/02/2026. The event aims to empower the girl students through the different sessions. Total number of participants was 110. The sessions were divided into lecture sessions and practical session. 1. Meditation Session by Tej Gyan Foundation

The Tej Gyan Foundation conducted a Meditation Session at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune, on October 8, 2024, organized by the Student Development and Welfare Cell. The event aimed to promote holistic well-being, focusing on mental and physical health, emotional stability, and professional performance. It was held in the PCCoE’s Seminar Hall, 74 students from various departments participated in the session. The session featured an introductory speech by Mr. Kishor Dange, who emphasized the importance of mental well-being in today's competitive world. It included an introduction to meditation, learning videos showcasing techniques and benefits, and an interactive discussion where students shared their insights and asked questions. Students were also given practical tasks to incorporate meditation into their daily routines. The event was well-received, with students actively participating and appreciating the value of meditation for stress management, focus, and emotional balance. The college recognized the contributors with mementos, reinforcing its commitment to student development beyond academics. Positive feedback suggests future sessions on related topics to support student well-being further.

2. Menstrual Hygiene and Personality Development Session for Girl Students at PCCoE

The Student Development and Welfare Cell of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering organized an informative session on Menstrual Hygiene and Personality Development in collaboration with Campus Konnect and Whisper to empower the college's female students on August 28, 2024.

The session focused on four key areas: Personality Development, Menstrual Hygiene, Mental Health, and Interview Readiness, providing valuable insights for the personal and professional growth of students. Students who registered and attended the session received a goodie bag worth Rs. 200, enhancing their experience.All attendees were awarded a certificate for their participation in the program.

This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to fostering holistic student development, addressing personal well-being and professional readiness.

Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyaan Session for Girl Students at PCCoE

As per the permission and approval letter received from Savitribai Phule Pune University, reference no: 2024-2025/714 dated 03rd October 2024, with reference to the university’s initiative under BSW for different schemes and programs to be arranged for student development and welfare, a Self-Defence training workshop under the Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan was organized for the girl students of FY BTech, PCCOE.

The Workshop was organized on 17th February 2025 at the PCCOE LRDC Hall (Mechanical building 5th floor) from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. 27 girl students from First Year B.Tech attended the workshop. The main objective of this program was to provide orientation and give training on Self-Defense to the girls students. The following are the details of the session.

Objectives of the Workshop:

  • To equip girl students with fundamental self-defense techniques.
  • To build confidence and mental awareness.
  • To emphasize the importance of physical fitness and daily practice.

Key Highlights and Techniques Covered: 1. Raise Your Voice: Importance of vocal strength in deterring attackers.
2. Diagonal Stance:A crucial stance for balance and defense.
3. Palm Strike:A powerful and effective self-defense move.
4. First Weapon Attack by Eyes:Using eye contact as the first line of defense.
5. Second Weapon Attack by Voice:Utilizing vocal strength to intimidate an attacker.

The Self-Defence Training was given by Marshal Cadet Corps Commandos - Ms. Shital Arvind More, Mr. Rakesh Yadav, Ms. Geeta Patil and Mr. Hariom Belunke. These people provided the knowledge of essential techniques and confidence to protect themselves. The session highlighted the importance of mental awareness, physical fitness, and continuous practice. Such initiatives under the ‘Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan’ are crucial in ensuring the safety and empowerment of our students, preparing them to face challenges with resilience and confidence.
