The Office of Faculty Development and Welfare has a representation from each Department and Section and is dedicated to providing programs and opportunities that enhance the overall development of our faculty and supporting staff members. Our key functions and responsibilities include:
- Annual Budget Management: Preparing, reviewing, and monitoring the Dean’s office’s annual budget to ensure effective resource allocation for faculty development initiatives.
- Faculty Qualifications Database: Maintaining and updating a comprehensive database of teacher qualifications to assist in planning professional development and meeting accreditation requirements.
- Performance Appraisal: To ensure continuous professional growth and accountability, designing and implementing a robust annual performance appraisal scheme for all PCCOE staff, including faculty and non-teaching staff.
- Higher Education Opportunities: Identify faculty members who require higher education, explore opportunities for further education, and recommend qualified teachers for advanced training programs, including postgraduate and doctoral studies.
- Policy Maintenance and Development: Maintain current faculty development and welfare policies, and propose necessary amendments to keep policies relevant and effective.
- Training Needs Analysis: Conduct systematic training needs analysis to identify areas where faculty require additional support and development and organize targeted training programs to address these needs.
- Professional Development Programs: Proposing, planning, and organizing a variety of professional development programs such as short-term training programs (STTP), continuing education programs (CEP), workshops, and expert lectures to enhance faculty skills and knowledge.
- Conference Organization: Planning and organizing national and international conferences to provide faculty with platforms for presenting their research, networking with peers, and staying updated with the latest advancements in their fields.
- Industrial and External Training: Facilitating faculty participation in external industrial training programs and other professional development opportunities outside the institution to broaden their expertise and practical knowledge.
- Grievance Handling: Receiving, addressing, and reconciling concerns and grievances of the staff through appropriate channels, ensuring a supportive and positive work environment.
- Community Building: Organizing and celebrating festivals, excursions, and other social events for PCCOE staff to foster a sense of community, belonging, and work-life balance.
