National Level Technical Events at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering on 15th & 16th March, 2011.
Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering Nigdi, Pune has successfully organized two days National level technical event, “Techlligent- 2011” on 15th and 16th March, 2011. Total 2000 students from all over India has participated in this event.
At the time of inauguration, chief guest, Mr. Suhas Bakshi(Director, Demag Cranes India) has delivered a spiritual talk for students on how to become an industrial expert i.e. transition from student life to an industrialist. A key note speaker, Mr. Deepak Shikarpur(Chairman, CSI Pune chapter) has guided the students, not to stress only on exam oriented study, but should study the subjects with practical approach and learn the concepts. Through Such events students are getting necessary platform to show their talent & improve their personality, said Dr. A.M. Fulambarkar(Principal, PCCOE).
Paper Presentation:
Technical Paper Presentation, “Papyrus” is all about expressing the innovative thoughts of various technical streams. Great speaking skills, informative and witty paper, new and interesting facts- these are qualities of a successful Paper presenter. By this paper presentation students will have an awareness of new technical things in engineering fields. Paper presentation was started at 9.00am and concluded at 5pm on 15th march 2011. Four streams for paper presentation were computer / IT, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical Engineering and Master of computer application. Total 300 papers were received from all over India and selected 210 papers among them. Some of the best papers includes, ”Bio impedance based tongue cancer detection”,”Unmanned aerial vehicle with fail safe unit”, “Quicx: A light weight protocol for effective communication in Linux clusters”, and “Exoskeleton for human performance augmentation”.
Project Competition:
The basic aim of project exhibition, “Innova” is that there should be some common platform given to the student to compete at one place and every one can reach to the ideas that are implemented in other colleges. This is the first time PCCOE has organized national level project competition & got overwhelming response for this event. More than 200 entries from 170 colleges we confirmed with cut off ratio of 3 as to 1 to ensure the quality of event. This event is started at 10 a.m. at end at 6.00 p.m. Projects in areas like system, Energy, Algorithms ,solar, traffic management, for disabled persons, automation and many more are presented in front of judges from CDAC ,Accenture, Growth Labs etc. Event is organized in four tracks i.e. Computer / IT, Mechanical, E&TC, MCA. Prize money was worth rupees 1, 00,000/- awarded to the winners
Technical Events:
TECHNOVA is the contest for the students to show their skills in various technical events. The events for various streams of Engineering and MCA were:
1) ROBOTHRIVE – Robotics competition
2) Design on the spot – Mechanical
3) Design on the spot – E&TC
4) C +ve – C programming contest for Engineering
5) C +ve – C++ programming contest for Engineering
6) C +ve – C programming contest for MCA
7) GAMING
In this contest around 1295 students participated. The most noticeable events were:
1) Robotics competition in which students were tested to build an optimized robot which can pass the test of Climbing, Synchronization, weight lifting and speed altogether.
2) Design on the spot E&TC in which students were tested for the actual circuit designing skills with the given problem statement.
3) Design on the spot Mechanical in which the Catapult design was given and then it was tested for its desired performance.
4) The MCA department also conducted C- programming contest first in which around 125 students participated, a remarkable achievement.
For judging various technical final rounds the senior faculties from various premium institutes were invited. The judgment was based on various technical criteria. This event has definitely developed the technical and generic skills among the participants and the volunteers. The team efforts of the students could only make the event a grand success.
Events for the students of Management Studies:
MBA department has organized, “IMAGINATION” four events, includes CAC- Case Analysis competition, Studio-10- Instant Advertisement Competition, Mastermind and Business Plan Presentation Competition. It is a platform for student's vision to explore the views and ideas. This forum encourages students to think innovative and presents an opportunity to express their ideas through various management events. For all the events response was huge through out India.
Valedictory function is conducted in the presence of Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. H. K. Abhyankar(Director, VIT, Pune). Prizes of Rs. 2.5 lacs are distributed among 200 students for various events.
