PCCOE NSS STUDENTS CELEBRATE ENGINEER’S DAY BY BLOOD DONATION
(Date: - 15th September, 2011 )
• On the occasion of the engineer’s day NSS students of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering organized the blood Donation camp with the help of Sasoon Blood Bank.
On 15th September, 2011 College NSS students take a blood donation camp under the guidance of Principal Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar and NSS Program Officer Prof. C. L. Ladekar. Total 210 bags of blood were collected and were donated to Sasoon hospital. Blood Bank team of 18 members along with their PRO Mr. Mugave and College NSS team make it grand success.Event No. - 2 Close it
PCCOE-NSS TEAM TAKE NIRMALYA COLLECTION CAMP AT GANESH TALAV ON OCCASION OF GANESH VISARJAN

• Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering NSS students team of 50 students take a cleaning camp at Ganesh Talav on a occasion of Ganesh Visarjan. In this camp students do the traffic arrangement, collected the nirmalya and do the other cleaning work.
On 11.09.2011 team of 50 students was performing outstandingly and supports the Mahapalika staff to keep the Talav Parisar clean. Students started at 10.00 am and till 7.00 pm they were dong the service to the society. Principal of Institute Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar along with the NSS Program Office Prof. C. L. Ladekar motivated students for the camp.

NSS STUDENTS VISITED RALEGAON SIDDHI AND ANNA HAJARE

Blood donation camp on the occasion of "Engineer’s Day".
(Date: - 15/09/2009)
• The NSS of PCCOE has organized a Blood donation camp on 15th Sep 2009 i.e. on engineer’s day.
• This camp is a result of joint effort of NSS-PCCOE and Poona serological Blood bank. This year because of SWINE-FLUE very less blood is donated. Therefore blood banks are facing blood shortage everywhere. To overcome this problem Pune University has organized a "RAKTADAN MAHAYADNYA" program, in which all collages under Pune university has to organize a blood donation camp.
• At the of inauguration honorable principal Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar said that There no other alternative is available for Blood Donation. We cannot prepare in labs. Therefore everybody should donate blood periodically.
• To make this event successful student from all dept. donated blood and therefore 356 donors donated their blood. This number is the highest among all colleges under Pune University.
• Approx. 1000 students did their blood group testing and hemoglobin testing.Event No. - 5 Close it
Lohgad Cleaning Activity.
(Date: - 02/10/2009)
• Forts are always our source of inspiration. They remind us our great and rich history. Secondarily they also give a good experience with nature.
• Because of this only many tourists visits different forts but they ruins the beauty by spreading garbage everywhere. This garbage consist of chocolate wrapper, cold drink bottles and plastic.
• NSS students of PCCOE visited LOHGAD fort on 2nd Oct 2009 on the occasion of "Gandhi Jayanti". This visit is arranged to understand the history of this fort as well as to clean.
• In this visit NSS student collected 20 bags of plastic garbage. This garbage is brought down and demolished it.
• This event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Anandkumar Birajdar with the assistance of Mr. Bhase and Mrs. Kranti Potdar.Event No. - 6 Close it
Book Donation Camp for ZP school at Dhamane.
(Date: - 12/01/2010)
• NSS of PCCOE has adopted a village Dhamane which is situated in Maval taluka of Pune district. And therefore NSS works for the development of this village.
• As part of that work, NSS decided to help students of ZP school in their development. Books are the only way which leads to ultimate development.
• Therefore NSS students decided to donate a book library to ZP school. As a result NSS organized a "BOOK DONATION CAMP" in PCCOE.
• On inauguration program honorable principal Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar said that "Books are the best donation to give. Books continuously keep on giving knowledge."
• In this camp NSS invited a Book seller to college where he set a book exhibition for all. All staff and Students visited this exhibition and purchased book and donated it for the school. Likewise NSS collected books of Rs. 30,000.Event No. - 7 Close it
Guest Lecture on "Global Warming".
(Date: - 16/01/2010)
• The NSS of PCCOE has organized a Guest lecture on "Global warming".
• Now a day "Global Warming" is a big question in front mankind. Its affect on earth is well to everybody.
• This guest lecture is a result of joint effort of NSS-PCCOE and "Lokayat" a group that fight against social problem.
• Mr. Niraj and Prof. Abhijit delivered this lecture. In this lecture they made student aware about the effects of global warming. They also told about the casual approach of developed countries about Global warming and how for the sake of world community they are taking inappropriate measures.
• This lecture is followed by a question answer session, wherein students asked the queries regarding Global Warming. Students also were infored about how to work against global warmingEvent No. - 8 Close it
Least Vehicle Week.
(Date: - 25/01/2010 to 31/01/2010)
• Today, we all know that Global Warming is the giant problem in front of mankind. Because of Global Warming temperature of earth is increasing and resulting into more problems.
• One of the reasons behind Global warming is excess air pollution which is caused by mainly vehicles and by industries. Green house gases are also helps global warming.
• The NSS of PCCOE has decided to work on this problem and there forth idea of Least Vehicle Week came forward. NSS has declared a week i.e. from 25th Jan 2010 to 31st Jan 2010 as a "LEAST VEHICLE WEEK".
• In this activity NSS volunteer appealed through pamphlets to the college students as well as to staff to reduce the use of private vehicle and should make use of public transport. Volunteer also promoted the use of bicycle.
• Students as well as staff have given a very good response to the appeal made by NSS volunteer. Most of students preferred the Local trains and PMPML buses for travelling.

Guest Lecture on "Genetically Modified Food".
(Date: - 12/02/2010)
• NSS cell of PCCOE has organized a Guest on "Genetically Modified Food".
• The idea behind this lecture is to make aware everybody about the effect of genetically modified on humans as well as the nature.
• To deliver this lecture a renowned scientist Padmabhushan Dr. P.N. Bhargava was invited. He is a father of term Genetic Engineering in India. He is founder and former director of the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hydrabad. He was also a former vice-chairman of National Knowledge Commission. He is also a member of National Security Advisory Board.
• Dr. Bhargava mentioned that though genetically modified food causes a great increase in grain production but it is harmful to our body. It directly affect on our immune system as well as on reproductive system.
• Therefore before introducing genetically modified food in India, its affect on humans must be tested.
• With the help of "Lokayat" NSS organized this event successfully. In all 350 to 400 student took benefit of this lecture.
