SAE SUPRA is India's biggest Formula student competition. It is a platform for students to apply their Engineering skills to design and construct a Formula category Vehicle as per defined performance and safety specifications. The event was judged by a panel comprising 200 eminent experts from the automotive industry, including four international experts – Mr. Benjamin Moeller, Mr. Christian Thomas Amersbach, Mr. Christoph Martin Beisswanger from Germany and Ms. Anastasia Potrashkova from Russia.
Total 125 teams participated in the championship. PCCoE team “Team Kratos Racing” could beat all of them and won the championship. Along with these awards, Prestigious “Dronacharya Award” for best faculty advisor was conferred to Prof. Amol Suryavanshi and Prof. Nilesh Gaikwad from PCCoE.

Thrilling Climax near Finish Line
BAJA SAEINDIA 2016 the 9th national level all terrain vehicle competition took place at Pithampur, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) from 17th Feb. to 21st Feb.2016. It was sponsored by Mahindra & Mahindra. PCCoE team “Red Barron” was one of the participants among the 149 teams from all over the India. The team got selected for this event for the fifth time consecutively. Some achievements of our Team RED BARON are:
The department technical event 'MECHFEST-2016' was organized on 11th and 12th January 2016. The event was coordinated by MESA. This year the theme of event was 'Technology Meets Humanity', the planned events were CAD modeling, Mind Mapping, Model Making, Click-O-Thon, Photography Exhibition, Innovate to help and Debate.
The event was inaugurated on 11th January 2016 by Mr. Suryakant Shankar Jadhav, Proprietor, Kedar Engineers. The valedictory function was held on 12th January. A band from ‘Kamayani School for Mentally Retarded Children’ performed in this function. Guest for this function was Mrs. Sangeeta, Principal of the same school. The MECHFEST 2016 was a great success and made students think about people with different disabilities and how engineering can be used to help these people.
The students of PCCOE had participated in ROBOCON 2015, an international level robotics competition held in various Asian countries. The event was organized by Maharashtra Academy of Engineering, Alandi, Pune, at, Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Balewadi, Pune, from 5th to 7th March, 2015. This year’s theme was ‘badminton’s doubles game’. The problem statement was very challenging and given students brains a real engineering exercise. The highlight of this game is how the two robots hit and hit back shuttle by collaborating each other. Both the robots were designed and build by the students from Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication and Computer branches.
This year students have built two robots, one for shuttle service and other to return the opponent service. Total 25 students formed a team which included students from Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication and Computer branches. The team reported at competition venue on 4th March, 2015. This year total 84 teams had registered for the competition. The team secured 5th position in league level by winning both their matches.
A two days national Seminar on “Innovation and New Product Development” was organized for the faculty / staff / students of Mechanical Engineering from 19/02/2015 to 20/02/2015. The eminent speakers from IIT Bombay, NID Ahmadabad, SKF Bearing India Ltd., Varroc Polymers Pvt. Ltd., Schaffler India Ltd. have shared their expertise with the audience. Dr. S. S. Lakade (HOD, Mechanical Engineering) was the convener of seminar.

Following are some achievements of our Team RED BARRON
CAD Design Competition was organized 02/08/2014.There was a massive response from all the students for this event. Total 62 students registered for this event and 45 students participated. Kiran Patil (TE) was 1st winner, Narayan Iyer (BE) was second winner and Durgesh Pawar (BE) was third winner for this event.This event was conducted for skill development of students. Event was co-ordinated by Prof.R.S.Pimpalkar and Prof.J.P.Wagh.
Poster Competition on Product Design and Development was conducted on 17th Sept. 2014. Total 204 students in 51 groups enrolled. Awards were given in the category of Best Marketable design, most innovative Design and Best technical contents. This competition was co-ordinated by Prof.V.Y.Bhalerao and Prof.S.R.Wankhede.
Two days 'PLC training Workshop' was conducted for T E Mechanical students on 27th & 28th April2015. This event was co- ordinated by Mr Aher V.K. And Mr. R.A.Gujar under SIG head Prof Dr S.S.Lakade. This workshop was intended to train students on PLC programming and PLC hardware.
Mrs. N.U.Yewale, Mrs. S.V.Patil & Mr. V.S.Shingare has organized and conducted two days workshop on 'Radio Controlled Aircraft' on 1st and 2 April 2015.Objective of the workshop was to impart fundamental Knowledge for design , fabrication and testing of RC Aircraft.
Mechanical department organized annual technical student symposium 'Mechfest-2K15' on 1st & 2nd April, 2015. The chief guest was Dr. A.D.Gaikwad, Principal, PCCoER. Various technical events were conducted in this symposium like project competition, technical paper presentation, poster competition, Skit competition, 3D modelling competition, Snap hunt & debate competition. All winners got cash prizes & memento from the chief guest on valedictory function Dr.J.S.Umale, Dean Academics, PCCOE, HOD mech Engg. Dr.S.S.Lakade & senior faculty of department. The event was coordinated by Chief convener Dr.S.S.Lakade, Convener Prof. C.L.Ladekar, Co-convener Prof.U.G. Potdar, student convener Mr. Yash Bansal & all volunteers.
