Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)

Objectives

To Inculcate Social awareness, values and environmentally responsible behavior amongst students.
To nurture students as citizens with moral, ethical and social values so as to provide service to the society through programs and discharge their obligations towards the society.

Functions

To create awareness among students and staff towards our responsibility for societal development.

To undertake activities, case studies, projects for social cause.

To undertake activities, schemes for village development.

To organize blood donation camps, Health awareness /check up camps.

To plan and organize projects and activities in plantation, cleanliness, up-keepment drives, waste management, e-waste management, rain water harvesting, filtration plants prototype, Environment protection.

To arrange need based educational projects for school students.

To plan and execute projects for physically challenged persons.

To organize artisan training programs, community development programs.

Visits to well-known NGO’s, such as Anandwan, Melghat, Ralegan-siddhi etc.

List of Activities (A. Y. 2016 - 2017)

Activities conducted by ISR E&Tc Dept: Coordinated by Prof. A R Suryawanshi, Prof. A. M. Ekbote and Student coordinator Mr. Swapnil Sakhare & team of ISR E&Tc students

The ISR Cell conducted activities concerning the development of the rural area children such as computer literacy, English language, distribution of stationary items, etc. In Semester-I these activities were conducted between 13th August 2016 to 8th October 2016& from 15th Dec 2016 to March 2017 in Semester-II. The School where we conducted this activity was “Kanhephata Zilha Parishad Prathamik Shala, Kanhephata”. This is the second year of our training program in Z.P. School.

The children to be taught were from Std.5 to Std.7.The student count was around 180, students were divided into different groups for this activity. The respective ISR student team members from E&Tc dept, PCCOE visited the school together every week on Saturday and the session was conducted for two hours.

English Language Course

This activity was conducted along with the Communication and Personality Development Cell of E&Tc Dept.English language syllabus was taught by ISR students along with CPDC cell students. The basic topics covered under this activity were nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verbs, spellings, synonyms, antonyms, pronunciations, numerical count and spellings, Marathi to English translation of sentences and paragraph reading.

Computer Literacy Program

The ISR cell undertook the different session in which basic computer proficiency was given to theschool students. The basic topics covered under this activity arePaint, WordPad, Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft office PowerPoint, Microsoft office excel, etc.

Stationary Distribution

Activities performed in common were Notebook Distribution under ISR and CPDC cell and Natyaprashikshan. An act performed to introduce the students to arts under CPDC, ART Circle and ISR cell.

Notebook Distribution was organized by the team member contributions which amounted up to Rs.3000. We distributed a notebook and pen to each student of Std.6 and 7 and a pencil, eraser, sharpener kit to students of Std. 4 and 5.

Other activities like Tree plantation, visit to Child Orphanage on 31/12/2016 and spending the whole day with children. The different gifts like badminton kit, bat-ball, notebooks,story books,drawing books are given to each child.
