Higher Study Cell

Objectives

To promote higher studies awareness among the students, motivate them for pursuing higher studies& ensure maximum enrollment and to prepare the students for higher studies entrance exams.

Higher Studies is always seen as a stepping stone for bright career. The students should be capable of applying their knowledge and skills based on the forefront of science in the subject areas of their studies which will help them to satisfy employability needs of corporate and other sectors. The higher studies provide a platform through which one can enhance the capability to identify, formulate and handle scientifically complex problems, as well as to critically evaluate information and to formulate possible solutions. One can go for research work, implement their ideas and bring innovations to the society.


Functions

  • To Maintain and update the database regarding opportunities for higher studies within the country and abroad along with qualifying examinations, admission prerequisites, norms, deadlines, websites etc.

  • To create and regularly up-date liaison with our alumni who are undergoing higher studies in reputed institutes.

  • To build a student community to assist, support, guide and help outgoing students for admissions and other related matters.

  • To provide adequate references in the form of books, CD’s for preparations of competitive entrance examination such as, GATE, GRE, CAT, GMAT, TOEFL etc.

  • To seek willingness/career options from each student after admission to Engineering Course through necessary guidance and counseling in this regard.

  • To create an environment conducive for higher studies.

  • To arrange various guest lectures, seminars of various career counseling agencies for higher studies. The special talks, group discussions with our Alumni can be arranged to share their experiences and guidance.

  • To form self preparation/ group preparation through student clubs such as GATE club, GRE-TOEFL club, CAT-GMAT club if needed. Guidance through Internal faculty or External resources can be provided.

  • Processing the applications for higher studies through the higher studies cell for necessary records and follow-up.

  • To develop liaison with reputed institutes, universities within the country and abroad regarding admissions, fees, financial assistance schemes etc. conclusion of the program.

  • Intranet based GATE, GRE, CAT reference material, test series, online practice etc.<
  • MoU with the trainers in the area of GATE, CAT and GRE for in-campus students' training since 2013.
  • Adequate references in the form of books, CD’s, for preparation of competitive entrance examination such as GATE, GRE, CAT, GMAT, TOEFL etc in central library and department library.
  • Club culture to prepare for GATE, GRE, CAT etc.
