Computer Engineering Department Activities
Computer Engineering Department of PCCoE ensure the overall development of students by conducting various social and professional activities which strengthen and enrich the community within the department. The strong team of faculties and students work together to enhance the knowledge and awareness in the field of Computer Engineering through guest lectures, symposiums, competitions and give them the competitive edge in it; to create a spirit of brotherhood and co-operation; to develop leadership and initiative, and to inculcate a sense of responsibility.
Four Days Hands-on Workshop cum Championship on 'Internet of Things (IoT) using Raspberry Pi + Arduino
Four Days Hands-on Workshop cum Championship on 'Internet of Things (IoT) using Raspberry Pi + Arduino' was organized by Computer Engineering Department in collaboration with Revert Technology Pvt. Ltd., Cognizance, IIT Roorkee. This Workshop was arranged during l4th Jan 2017 to 17th Jan 2017 and number of participants was 42. The main Objective of this Workshop was to introduce Students to practical knowledge of IoT and motivate them to work on small Projects using Raspberry Pi and Arduino. The Workshop was very well received by the Students and the outcomes of the Workshop included important insights about the Operating System, Programming, basic usage etc. At the end of the Workshop, Practical demonstration based Competition was conducted and three groups (11 Students) were selected for further Round at RoboFeast'17. Congratulations to Mr. Ketan Desale and Mrs. Smita Khairnar who worked as Coordinators for the Workshop.
Training on R Programming
Training session on “Introduction to R Programming” was organized by SIG - Databases and Information Management, Computer Department on 24th and 25th August 2016. It was a Self Learning session from Online Portal - DataCamp, organized for SIG faculty members.
Two days Workshop on : “Startups & Design Thinking” was organized by Computer Engineering Department in under PCCOE ACM-W Student chpater in association with ACM-W Professional Pune chpter on 21/02/2019 to 22/02/2019.
Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success. This workshop helps the students to understand how to apply the first few steps of the design process to new venture and improve their ability to think more.

Summer Vacation course on FUN with C
Department of computer has organized 3 days summer training on "Fun with c" for students of age group between 12 to 18 0n 1st to 3rd June 2016.it was 20 hrs course with hands on training. The Workshop was organized by Computer Department on date 18th Mar. 2016 for BE Computer students on "Kernel Compilation". Prof. Santwana Gudadhe and Pallavi Dhade successfully coordinated the event. The event was organized with an objective of that student should get the knowledge of Linux Operating System and Kernel Compilation Techniques. The outcome of the event was student got the knowledge of Linux kernel Compilation.
The Parent Meet was organized by Computer Department on 25th Feb 2016. Prof. Namrata Gawande successfully coordinated the event. The event was organized with an objective to aware parents about Placement, Academic Results, Research Projects, Industry-Institute Interaction, student development carried out in the department. The outcome of the event was academics and beyond academics inputs from faculties to parents, suggestions by parents.

Parents' Meet was successfully conducted on 10th September 2015.Head of the Department Prof. Dr. K. Rajeswari presented the Vision, Mission, Teaching learning process, Overall achievements of the department etc. Total 50 parents attended the meet. It was an interactive session and was successfully coordinated by the department.
Expert Talk On Recent Trends in Cloud Computing and Information Security
An Expert talk on "Recent Trends in Cloud Computing and Information Security" was held on 16th February 2015 under the SIG "Information Security. The speaker of the day was Mr. Amar Samarth, Solution Architect, TechMahindra Ltd. The attendees of the session were all SIG team members and interested students from S.E., T.E, B.E and M.E. There were a total of one twenty participants for the session. The points discussed during the session are: Introduction to cloud computing, Need for cloud computing, Types of Cloud, Cloud Architecture and Services (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS), Online Virtual Desktop, Access control for cloud, Communication in hybrid cloud, Data Security in cloud, Possible projects in cloud.
Expert Talk On Success Programming
Personal Counseling Cell of Computer department arranged an expert talk for faculties on "Success Programming" on 7th February 2015. The session was conducted by Prof. Meera Natarajan, FE Department, PCCoE. The speaker talked on how to acquire good habits in our daily routine by using the learning ladder of Unconscious Incompetency to Unconscious Competency where Unconscious Competency is habit. She also guided on Time Management and Stress Management with good examples. The talk was very helpful for all the faculties to improve themselves as well as for mentoring students.
Workshop On Google Forms
The workshop on Google forms was conducted on 7th February 2015 for all faculties in Computer engineering department. The speaker of the session was Prof. S. R. Kokate from Computer Department. The workshop highlighted on Google cloud and its various applications like preparing quiz for students, designing forms, designing survey forms etc. The workshop benefited all faculties to conduct the online test, surveys, feedback etc. It was an informative session and a very good learning experience for the faculty members.
FDP On Computer Network FDP on "Computer Network" was organized for the faculty from 2nd January 2015 to 4th January 2015. Prof. S. S. Sambare discussed the theme of FDP and elaborated that the FDP is in continuation with the syllabus revision workshop conducted at PCCoE. Prof. Dr. Sarang Joshi discussed about expectation from faculty members and focused on the complete syllabus coverage as well as laboratories in PL-IV. Details on Unit-wise Syllabus coverage were given by Dr. S. J. Wagh, Mr. Kimbhune and Mr. Sessions on practicals related to Computer Network by Mr. Nilesh Deshmukh was given on 3rd January and 4th January 2015.
It is a delight to share that NVIDIA, the leading designer of graphics processors and integrated accelerators for computing recognized PCCoE as Research and Training Centre. Department of Computer Engineering has acquired infrastructure capability to support research in high performance computing which now days is backbone for experiments for any scientific and application oriented domain of computing research. With the support from NVIDIA, we now provide an opportunity to our students to learn the parallel programming CUDA on Specialized NVIDIA cards.
NVIDIA CUDA Teaching Center inaugurated on 16th July 2014. Mr. Thomas Bradely (Senior Manager of Developer Technology, heading the GPU computing group in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India) inaugurated CUDA Teaching Center. Mr. Pradeep Gupta (Manager -Developer Technology, Asia South at NVIDIA), Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar (Principal, PCCoE), Dr. J. S. Umale (Dean Academics. PCCoE), Mr. Rahul Patil (In-charge CUDA Teaching Center, PCCoE) and all faculty members of Department of Computer Engineering were present during the inaugural function.
