Teaching Learning Philosophy

The Department of Computer Engineering

follows the philosophy of outcome based education. Academic conduction through planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation is ensured with well organised academic structure comprising of academic coordinators, module coordinators, course coordinators. Program outcomes are ensured and strengthen with course outcomes. Course outcomes are ensured and strengthen with various content delivery methods and various assessment methods such as activity based and project based learning. The goal is to provide value added quality education through outcome based education

Academic Governance

The Department of Computer Engineering

was established in 2001 with a vision to be Premier Hub in Computer Engineering in Education and Research. To achieve this vision the governance is based on a philosophy of four pillar structure based on Quality Education, Research, Professional Career and Social Commitment.

Computer Engineering Department

has department advisory committee and program accreditation committee having stakeholders from industry, research, education, parents, alumni, students and senior professors in the department. They decide various academic activities for overall improvement of students and such activities to be implemented in respective semester through a well structured process. The process involved meetings of course coordinators, module coordinators and faculty presentations to implement the academic plan during that semester.

Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is a blend of concepts and advances using high end Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) technologies. One of the objectives of the syllabus is to cultivate students for using FOSS and contributions in FOSS. The theory subjects are based on the pre-requisites which are covered in earlier classes. For final year, 16 electives are divided into four groups on recent technologies such as cloud computing, mobile computing, web applications and Business Analytic and Intelligence, Cyber Security are provided which shall be useful for student in their professional carrier. The laboratories for problem solving practices are based on utilization of state-of-the art FOSS software technologies used by the Industries. The FOSS technologies are available with source code, students can experiment the performance improvement and ideation to replace the existing implementation. As a coutcome of the syllabus student will be able to implement project in final year as conventional practices or as an entrepreneur project to give thrust on generating budding talent as entrepreneur to lead the industrial front of the nation worldwide.
