Workshop on Honors course guideline for Engineering under SPPU organized by Faculty of Science and Technology for Directors and Principles of SPPU (Savitribai Phule, Pune University), Pune.

Introduction:

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to allow the learners to acquire Honors with respect to certain exotic and state-of-the-art Engineering domains. Honors degree aims at advanced knowledge from their respective programme/ branch in which they are pursuing degree. Hence to bring uniformity across affiliated and autonomous institute this workshop aimed at receiving feedbacks form Principle and Directors of SPPU affiliated engineering colleges and institutes. The important points related to Honors degree and attributes related to it were discussed and valuable suggestions were noted down.

Objectives: Workshop aimed at following objectives:

1. Infrastructural requirement for conducting honors Courses
2. Intake and eligibility of students for honors program.
3. Flexibility in terms of regular conduction or by taking additional year, Credit transfer from online education, no loss basis, keeping term in next year and opt out decisions
4. Decision about Credit structure, syllabus framing
5. Inclusion of Project and internship.

An initiative is taken from the Dean Academics office for arranging a series of lectures on various Assessment methods for effective Autonomy implementation. In this regard first lecture series was organised on was oragnised on 21st February 2022 in the LRDC hall. The speaker of the event was Honourable Director Dr.Govind N Kulkari. More than 150 faculty of PCCoE registered and got benefited.
